Frequently Asked Questions

8 common questions answered

What are the known NHTSA recalls for a 2023 Honda HR-V?
The NHTSA has issued seven recalls affecting the 2023 Honda HR-V, including three related to low-pressure fuel pump failure, three for rear brake caliper piston coating, and one tire placard labeling issue. These recalls involve the fuel delivery and brake components that can affect engine stall or braking performance and a labeling issue on older model tires; details come from NHTSA records. Nalley Honda in Union City, GA, can verify your VIN and perform free recall repairs using OEM parts and factory-trained technicians.
How do I check if my 2023 Honda HR-V has an open recall?
Check your VIN on NHTSA.gov or bring your vehicle to a dealer for a free VIN recall check; this is the official and fastest way to confirm open recalls. You can also contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138, or bring your vehicle to Nalley Honda and we will check the VIN and advise next steps at no charge. If a recall is open, you can schedule service online and ask about our current service specials.
How much does a 2023 Honda HR-V recall repair cost?
Manufacturer recall repairs are free of charge to the vehicle owner; Honda covers parts and labor for the recalls listed by the NHTSA. At Nalley Honda we perform recall work with OEM parts and factory-trained technicians at no cost under the manufacturer's program; if extra non-recall repairs are needed, we will estimate separately. Need financing? We offer service financing options — start with our pre-approval if you want payment flexibility for non-recall items.
Can I get my 2023 Honda HR-V recall fixed at an independent shop or do I need a dealer?
Recall repairs must be performed by an authorized dealer to ensure OEM parts, correct procedures, and that the manufacturer’s warranty and recall records are properly updated. Independent shops cannot always access the specific OEM parts or technical service bulletins required for a manufacturer recall; Nalley Honda’s factory-trained technicians use OEM diagnostic tools and parts for guaranteed recall completion. For convenience, schedule service with Nalley Honda to ensure the recall is logged and corrected properly under Honda’s program.
How long does a 2023 Honda HR-V recall repair take?
Repair time varies by recall and parts availability, but many recall repairs are completed in a few hours when parts are in stock; some replacements may take longer if parts must be ordered. For the fuel pump and brake caliper recalls noted by the NHTSA, technicians will often complete the work same-day if parts are on hand; Nalley Honda will provide an estimated turnaround when you schedule service. We recommend checking for recalls early and booking an appointment to minimize downtime; ask about our service specials while you wait.
Does an open recall affect my 2023 Honda HR-V's trade-in or resale value?
Yes — unresolved recalls can lower trade-in and resale value because dealers and buyers check NHTSA records and prefer vehicles with all recalls addressed. Getting recalls completed at Nalley Honda protects your vehicle’s value, documents the repair history with OEM records, and removes buyer concerns about safety issues like fuel pump failure or reduced brake performance. To protect value, consider our appraisal tools and trade options at sell-your-car-online.htm after recall repairs are performed.
Can I fail a state inspection because of an unresolved 2023 Honda HR-V recall?
Open recalls can sometimes impact safety inspections, especially if the recall affects brake or fuel systems; unresolved safety recalls may lead to inspection or registration complications. If your vehicle is affected by the brake caliper or fuel pump recalls noted by the NHTSA, addressing those recalls at an authorized dealer like Nalley Honda will ensure the vehicle meets safety standards for inspections. If you’re unsure, schedule appointment with Nalley Honda and our technicians will confirm recall status and complete any required repairs free of charge.
