Frequently Asked Questions

8 common questions answered

What are the known NHTSA recalls for a 2013 Honda Ridgeline?
The NHTSA has issued 20 recall reports affecting the 2013 Honda Ridgeline covering airbags, fuel pumps, seats, electrical systems, and related components. Most significant: multiple air bag inflator recalls (risk of inflator rupture), several fuel pump recalls (possible cracking or pump failure), and targeted issues with seats, wiring harnesses, and structure clips. All recall repairs are performed free of charge at a certified Honda dealer like Nalley Honda and are documented through NHTSA and Honda.
How do I check if my 2013 Honda Ridgeline has an open recall?
You can check your VIN on NHTSA.gov or bring your vehicle to Nalley Honda for a free VIN recall check. To verify online, enter your 17-digit VIN at NHTSA.gov or call Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138 for official guidance. If you prefer in-person help, our service team will run your VIN and explain any open recalls and the recommended corrective action — schedule service now.
How much does a 2013 Honda Ridgeline recall repair cost?
Manufacturer recall repairs for the 2013 Honda Ridgeline are performed free of charge to the owner. That means Nalley Honda will repair or replace affected components — such as air bag inflators, fuel pumps, or SRS units — at no cost under the recall program. If you need a loaner, rental assistance, or want to review current service specials, ask our service advisors; we also offer service financing to help you get necessary non-recall work completed now and pay later.
Can I get my 2013 Honda Ridgeline recall fixed at an independent shop or do I need a dealer?
To get free factory recall repairs you must have the work done by an authorized Honda dealer; independent shops cannot provide free manufacturer recall remedies. Qualified independent shops may perform repairs at their own cost, but only a Honda franchise dealer like Nalley Honda can perform manufacturer-authorized recall repairs using OEM parts and register the remedy with Honda and NHTSA. How long does a 2013 Honda Ridgeline recall repair take?
Repair times vary by recall: many air bag inflator replacements take 1–3 hours, while fuel pump or timing belt inspections/replacements can take 2–6 hours depending on parts availability. Some recalls require ordering a remedy part which may extend the visit; Nalley Honda will provide an accurate time estimate when you schedule appointment. We prioritize recalls and may offer loaner options or flexible scheduling; ask about our current service specials and service financing to make the process easier.
Does an open recall affect my 2013 Honda Ridgeline's trade-in or resale value?
Yes, unresolved recalls can negatively affect trade-in offers and resale value because buyers and dealers check NHTSA records and vehicle history reports. Getting recall repairs completed and documented at Nalley Honda protects value and buyer confidence; we can provide documentation and run a complimentary appraisal at our trade-in page Sell Your Car Online. Resolving recalls is a quick way to improve marketability when selling or trading; schedule a free recall check at Nalley Honda to preserve your vehicle's value.
Can I fail a state inspection because of an unresolved 2013 Honda Ridgeline recall?
Open recalls are sometimes flagged by inspection stations or during safety-related checks and can complicate inspections or insurance claims, depending on local rules. Some recalls affect emissions or safety systems that are directly inspected; resolving recalls at Nalley Honda reduces the risk of inspection or registration issues. Contact our service department or schedule service for a free recall check; we also offer service financing if any non-recall repairs are recommended.
