Both the exterior
and interior have enjoyed a make-over. Upgrades from cloth upholstery to
leather seats and a leather-bound steering wheel are now standard on
the EX-L and the new Special Edition SE models. Enhanced safety features
include six-standard airbags with front seat side-impact bags and side
curtain airbags. Traction control, brake assist, stability assist and
four wheel anti-lock brakes fill out the safety
options. Most buyers want the established value of an
Accord. The 2011 offers even more of the same. The cost remains low, and
the stingy fuel mileage keeps the Accord atop its class. Even the base
models get the benefits of Honda's high-technology and sleek, tweaked
design. Never one to rest on its laurels, Honda gave the 2011 model a
new profile, a new trim package, even better fuel economy and better
aerodynamics. The new wheels, updated rear deck lid and modified front
bumper and grill are some of the most visible
changes. The 180 and 195 horsepower, four-cylinder
engines come with a five-speed manual or automatic transmission. The 275
horsepower V6 Accord coupe packs a six-speed manual transmission.
Front-wheel drive is standard on all models. The Accord gets 23 mpg in
town and 34 highway miles per gallon. The Accord jumps from zero to
sixty miles per hour in 7.5
seconds.
